Great book. I ordered it to take on an Alaskan cruise, and then found it (for much more money) in many gift shops while in Alaska.
Essential to identifying which birds we were seeing in the Gulf of Alaska and the inside passage routes. Definitely improved over the previous edition and worth the price to update.
Love this book...I have many bird books, but wanted one for my trip to Alaska...So glad I bought this one, and only wish I could find a book like this for birds of North America!
This book is useful if you are going to a specific section of Alaska and want to know the most probable occurance of birds for that area. It is not as technically specific as a Sibley's or Kaufman's. It might be helpful to cross this against ebird postings to get the most accurate information.
